I wouldn’t call Destiny “essentially an MMO” due to a huge number of factors, but they are definitely making an experience more like what PC gamers are used too with MMOs. You need to understand these kind of games before you can truly understand why matchmaking doesn’t work. MMO-like content isn’t something you can just do with random players as it’s not built for randoms being paired together. The vast majority of the content in this game is built for people who have a good line of communication with each other, matchmaking groups rarely basically never have that. You get matched into your game, you play with your team or solo, you do your best to play your role but you rarely hear detailed communications between people. The way they are setting up Destiny puts players in situations where instead of forcing players to play together, they simply allow players to interact with each other in any way they want. In the open world players ultimately have the choice who they want to help and how.

Nov 2, I recently got into a discussion with my friends who play Destiny on PS4. I play on PC. I was complaining how there was no easy way for me to do the Nightfall other than jumping through hoops LFG, Companion app. They disagree and seemed to think that it was a good thing that this was not an option due to how difficult the content can be and the amount of teamwork it requires and also that Bungie’s official stance is basically that they want you to make friends through using these vetting systems.

Its bad enough they ruined Nightfalls Gee how do we make Nightfalls more interesting.. Is there gear you can get in a raid that gives an advantage in pvp? So if you want the highest power level you have to do the raid for gear of higher power from the raid chests. And as Power IS what light level was if you want the best damage and the most resilience you need the highest power. So yes it has thing that will give you an advantage in pvp even if your only using them to infuse.
So in this respect they are forcing people to raid via necessity. Then those people are forced to have a lower power level than everyone else. There should not be only one way to get max power. My friends who raid for example are ish they were within a coupple or three raids. My power is crawling up super super slowly.
The highest ranked stuff I see so far is from doing Clan dailies for our guild clan. My friend and I both hit without ever killing Callus, in fact I know for certain 4 members of our clan that did so. We have done plenty of nightmares, but I have done half of those with pickups. Timing has been off on trying to get 6 together for the raid though.

Or the attacks developed by some th9s to use 6 giants in a gowipe to act as a form of freeze spell when attacking th10s? I would have voted healers worthless, and some months ago expressed that very opinion on these forums, yet here we are.
In CH vs HL probably every th10 and most th9 3 stars used healers. So low and behold, its a critical war troop all of a sudden. All there is from th7 through early th8, then suddenly almost useless at th9. Not sure -pekka, clearly the key to the 1 fair play th10 vs th10 attack in the game -minions – maybe not so hugely valuable? So really, its just goblins and maybe minions or valks that one could say aren’t particularily useful in war? For spells it’d just be lightning?
Every other spell, and dark spell, has obvious and significant value. I’m not really sure what you could do to really adjust offensive weighting too much
