But some regulators have an unfortunate side effect – they can limit the maximum flow rate, which can create wimpy flow from the shower nozzle, and annoyingly long times to fill a pot with water in the kitchen. The worst culprits are the small inexpensive generic brass or plastic regulators that are widely available anywhere RV parts are sold. They may do a good job of regulating the pressure, but their very small internal diameter limits the flow to unacceptably low rates. There are at least two solutions to this problem: Use two or more of these cheap regulators in parallel. If you already have a couple of these cheap regulators, this may be the most economical solution. Or you can often find them very inexpensively in RV-oriented flea markets. Escapees RV Parks often have a table of donated RV gadgets, sometimes with a “pay what you think they are worth” policy.

There is an abundance of places to fall asleep under the stars and awake when the sun rises. There are times of the year when Prescott may get an occasional snowfall, but the climate here is as moderate as it gets, while still actually having mild seasons. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when camping in Prescott: It is incredibly important to pay attention to the fire alerts and restrictions when camping in Prescott – or all of Arizona on that matter. If you have a fire, make sure you put it out completely, which means there is zero chance of it starting back up.
This is a MUST. Prescott National Forest and Prescott Basin have a high percentage of wildland-urban interface, a mixture of undeveloped and developed land. The popularity of the Prescott Basin, has contributed to resource impacts such as accelerated soil erosion, damage or loss of vegetation, displaced wildlife, increased fire risk, and accumulation of trash and human waste, especially in areas of dispersed camping.
Make as little of a foreign footprint as possible and make sure to pick up after yourself. Do NOT leave your trash. Campers can enjoy acres and acres of pristine natural terrain for scenic viewing; for nature enthusiasts, there’s a plethora of animals that call the surrounding area home, including brave bald eagles, bobcats, snakes, rabbits and blue heron.
There’s even a seasonal creek that attracts even more wildlife; the waterside is perfect for picnicking, wading and late night stargazing.

You don’t want to find burst pipes come spring! To drain the water from your RV, you’ll need to open what’s called the “petcock. You should also flush both tanks at this time. If your RV does not come equipped with a built-in system, you should clean the tanks out with a wand or a product designed to clean both of the tanks. Take all the tanks’ contents to your local dump station.
But the hose is pressuring up on the outside of the hookup. Answer: It sounds like the check valve on the city water connection in your trailer is the problem. It is probably stuck in the closed position and is preventing water from entering the faucets, water heater, etc. in the RV.
The main difference is that RV bathrooms have their own sewer systems. The shower, sink and toilet in a house bathroom drains into a city sewage system. In a RV, they drain into holding tanks that must be manually emptied by the RV owner. Where Does the Water Go? Water is brought to the sink, shower and toilet of an RV through a hose that is hooked up to the water intake connection located on the outside of the RV.
The sink and the shower drain into a holding tank, called a gray water holding tank, that is located underneath the RV. The toilet drains into a separate holding tank, called a black water holding tank, that is also located underneath the RV. The toilet drains into its own holding tank, to keep human waste odors separate from shower and sink water. That way the human waste odors do not come through the sink and shower drains. Maintaining the Gray Water Holding Tank The gray water holding tank can be kept open during use if the RV is hooked up to a sewer connection.
Some campgrounds have sewer connection hookups for RVs. If the RV is not hooked up to a sewer connection, the gray water tank must be kept closed.
